Jacket design by Pat Marriott Black boards with silver titling on spine. Black author’s name on the dj spine indicates a first edition jacket. This is the second state binding which has the Honeychile silhouette from the cover on the front board After the 1956 copyright act this novel is the first in the series to have Gildrose Productions Ltd, printed here as Glidrose. Above that is First published 1958 another sign of a true first edition. White endpapers some fading with ownership name and date 1958. No other markings in the book. Back dust jacket has advertising for From Russia with Love. The first of the Bond titles to be made into a film which helped drive the massive popularity of the character. Bond goes to Jamaica to track down a mysterious scientist called Dr No who has killed a fellow agent. Pictures form part of the description.
