Beefsteak tomato (also called beef tomato in British English) is a large, meaty variety of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum). They are typically globe-shaped or slightly flattened/ribbed. Texture and Flavor: Thick, dense, "meaty" flesh with few seeds in many varieties, juicy, and a classic balanced tomato taste (sweet-acidic). The name "beefsteak" comes from their hearty, steak-like solidity when sliced—no hard core, fully edible.
