United Cigars Limited Edition 'The Independence Firecracker'

United Cigars and Arnold André, a German cigar company, are teaming up to release a new Firecracker blend commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States. The Independence Firecracker is a 3 1/2 x 50 petite robusto with a long pigtail. Blend-wise, the cigar is made with a habano wrapper grown in Mexico, covering a Dominican binder, and Dominican Republic and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos. The cigars are being made at the Arnold André Dominicana S.R.L. factory. Packaged in 12-count tin boxes that can also be used as an ashtray. When asked about production numbers, Oliver Nivaud, director of operations for United Cigars, told halfwheel that “We don’t have set qualities now for boxes as some will be used in different ways, but overall production numbers are over 30,000.” “Our partnership with Arnold André began a few years ago and this profile came together after many hours together in the factory,” said Nivaud in a press release. “The company has purchased some amazing tobaccos over the years and we were blessed to work with these aged leaves.” United Cigar is the American distributor for Arnold André. The Firecracker series dates back to 2007 and Two Guys Smoke Shop, a New Hampshire-based chain of retailers owned by Dave Garofalo, who also owns United Cigars. The Firecracker cigars are typically a 3 1/2 x 50 petite robusto that features a long pigtail. Over the years, various manufacturers have made Firecracker Series, including AGANORSA Leaf, All Saints, Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust, El Artista, Fratello, Kristoff, La Flor Dominicana, My Father, Perdomo, RoMa Craft Tobac, Rojas Cigars, Selected Tobacco and Tatuaje.
