The White Cosmos

Derived from the Greek word kosmos (order), the delightful Cosmos flower represents a calm, balanced and harmonious life. Made of luminous white silk crepe back satin and silk velvet leaves, the Cosmos brooch is centered with a hand-painted green and gold pistil and hand-dyed yellow stamens. The cosmos is the birth flower of the month of October. Due to its similar daisy-like appearance and aster family classification, the cosmos is often mistaken for a coneflower, the state flower of Tennessee, or a coreopsis, the state flower of Pennsylvania.
