TDLC England 1966 - Moore #6 Retro Cycling Jersey
Wembley. July 30th, 1966. Bobby Moore receives the Jules Rimet Trophy from the Queen and lifts it to the sky. England’s captain wore #6 and was ever-present throughout a tournament played entirely on home soil. Described by his own manager Alf Ramsey as “my captain, my leader, my right-hand man… the spirit and heartbeat of the team,” Moore was a different kind of defender - calm, intelligent, never reckless. He read the game twenty minutes before everyone else. He captained England 90 times in 108 appearances. The 4–2 win over West Germany in extra time remains England’s only World Cup title. It will never not be significant. This is the shirt. This is the #6. There is nothing else like it in English football history.
