Description This extremely low mintage $20 fine silver coin celebrates the 75th Anniversary of the 1939 Royal Visit to Canada and utilizes an antique finish to give the coin a unique aged look. 1939 marked the first time a reigning monarch had ever travelled to North America, and this was a major event for many Canadians. Two years in the making, this royal tour was a 29 day voyage across Canada and back again by rail, a total of 14,000 kilometers. Mintage is limited to just 5,000 pieces. HST/GST exempt. The Design: This coin features King George VI and Queen Elizabeth standing on the waving platform located at the back of the final car of the royal train. The King is in military uniform and the Queen is elegantly dressed wearing white gloves, pearls and fur cuffs.
