Chateau D'Angludet Vintage 1993
About the wine Chateau D'Angludet, situated in the commune of Margaux, is highly regarded and critical acclaimed despite being left out of the 1855 classification. Whilst 1993 wasn't a great vintage Ive found the wines have turned out better than expected. Typical Blend. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot. 75cl Bottle. Abv 12% Bottle condition, capsule excellent, label excellent, wine level in neck Tasting Note 23/09/2021 -86 Points Surprisingly enjoyable. Cork almost untouched, wine still dark in centre but orange at rim. Nose at its best half an hour after opening, flavour improved over the next three hours. Medium weight, with almost sweet flavours, like plums or sun dried grapes Would not have placed it as missing my normal d’Angludet mineral and grass flavours. Mellow, light but not thin on the finish. Very tannic once the fruit has gone. Altogether, most unexpected. Very interesting.
