Staying Current & Assisting Library Patrons through Rapid Tech Changes (6/9/26) For years, library staff have fulfilled the role of technology instructors within our communities. However, in this era of swift transformations, this responsibility comes with many challenges. Our speaker will explore the skills necessary to succeed, as well as how to apply them when providing tech-help to library patrons. Learning Outcomes: *Attendees will identify core skills and develop strategies to build and maintain them. *Attendees will identify current tech help topics and commonly used patron devices. *Attendees will explore best practices in patron tech instruction. Trainer: Nick Tanzi Nick Tanzi is an internationally recognized library technology consultant, and author of the books Making the Most of Digital Collections Through Training and Outreach (2016) and Best Technologies for Public Libraries: Policies, Programs, and Services (2020). Tanzi is a past column editor for Public Library Magazine’s “The Wired Library,” and was named a 2025 Library Journal Mover & Shaker.
