Oil Cooler Our uprated automatic gearbox oil cooler is manufactured by Allisport using a high-performance aluminium core with enhanced cooling capacity, designed to maintain optimal transmission temperatures even under demanding conditions. The fully TIG-welded construction ensures excellent strength, durability, and long-term reliability. We offer several configurations depending on the vehicle specifications: Defender Option 1 – Lower Mount Position Designed to sit below a standard or uprated intercooler, using the original Land Rover chassis mounting points for a straightforward installation. The oil cooler itself is positioned above the chassis legs, while the oil lines are routed under the chassis, similar to the layout used on the NAS V8 Defender. Option 2 – Upper Mount Position Designed to sit higher in the engine bay, with the cooler and lines routed over the chassis legs. Compatible with the standard intercooler or our close-fit Allisport intercooler. Discovery For Discovery models, we can supply an Allisport oil cooler that acts as a direct replacement for the original TD5 automatic oil cooler. This setup works with both the standard intercooler and the Allisport uprated automatic intercooler. Lines & Fittings Kit We can also supply the oil lines and adapters required for the gearbox and oil cooler, allowing you to build a complete cooling system. Final routing and assembly of the oil lines should be completed by the customer to ensure the best possible fit and routing for their specific vehicle setup. The kit includes: Gearbox cooler adapters - Discovery 4 8hp70 4 × AN fittings 2 × 2.5 m PTFE steel braided hoses These configuration allows for secure mounting, efficient routing of the oil lines, and a clean installation, while maintaining good protection and accessibility within the engine bay.
