Matsumoto Kurogi Square Plates
From a distance these look just like shou sugi ban (lacquered charred wood), but up close you realise these are ceramic coasters, each with a different unique wood grain pattern. Flat enough to use as a coaster (or as a sushi plate), they also have an incredibly tactile surface. Approx 0.5cm high and roughly 10.5cm square Stoneware (see our Care Guide) Not recommended to put in the dishwasher If you would like to see pictures of available stock, please just ask Hand-thrown, kerosene-fired, from Matsumoto Ryota's kiln near Kasama town, Ibaraki prefecture
