Crafted from premium, durable cowhide, it combines strength and practicality with the refined beauty of kimono obi fabric. Echoing the iconic one-eyed dragon armor—said to have inspired Darth Vader’s design—this piece shares Japan’s KIMONO culture with the world. Story - ストーリー REGAL COEPORATIONの靴は東北岩手工場で作られています。製造過程で靴革のハギレが数多く生じます。この端切れを無駄にせず「東北の循環でこれを有効活用できないか」―そんな企業課題の相談を受けた当社は得意のアップサイクル技術で解決を模索しました。端切れ牛革は最高級素材。試行錯誤や失敗を重ねた末、伊達政宗の鎧「黒漆塗五枚胴具足」から着想を得て、5枚の革と黒地帯を用いたオールブラックのボディーバッグが誕生しました。 REGAL Corporation’s shoes are crafted at its factory in Iwate, Tohoku. During production, numerous leather offcuts are left behind. Seeking a way to reuse these premium materials within the Tohoku region’s circular economy, REGAL approached us for a sustainable solution. Using our expertise in upcycling, we explored countless prototypes and experiments. The result: an all-black body bag inspired by Date Masamune’s iconic black-lacquered armor, “Kuro-urushi Go-maidō Gusoku.” Crafted from five panels of top-grade cowhide and accented with a black kimono obi, this creation gives new life to fine leather once destined to be discarded.
