Georgian Turquoise and Pearl Gilt Miniature Spyglass Telescope Pendant
This beautiful and rare pendant is a fully functional miniature spy glass telescope. Made in France circa 1820-1830 in the Bourbon restoration style. It features imitation turquoise (one absent) and pearls set in a gold-colored gilt metal. It opens to reveal three articulated telescoping segments and it set with a bale to wear on a chain. These delightful authentic antique spy glasses were used by fashionable society in parks and for events and performances. Antique box for display only. Chain is not included. Dimensions: 1.3 inches in diameter. .6 inches wide when closed. 1.4 inches when expanded Weight: 36.7 grams Condition: In good antique condition. One large and one small dent to outer ring.
