Founded in 1967, GlenAllachie Distillery is nestled in the heart of Speyside, just outside the charming town of Aberlour and at the foot of Ben Rinnes. Surrounded by heather-strewn hills and ancient granite rock, GlenAllachie draws its water from the nearby Springs of Ballantynes, renowned for their purity and softness: an essential ingredient in crafting its rich, fruit-forward style of single malt whisky. A series of peated expressions from Billy Walker. Meikle Tòir, meaning Big Pursuit, has been made with sweeter mainland peat from St Fergus. A lengthy 160 hour fermentation period offering a complex character further enhanced by the influence of virgin oak casks. Nose: smouldering oak embers, burnt liquorice and honey, with ginger, butterscotch and orange peel. Palate: cocoa, crème brûlée and toasted almonds, with cinnamon, aniseed and campfire smoke.
