Corner Store Class (Summer/Fall)

Select Summer and Fall Dates: 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM Step into the heart of Hawai‘i’s mom-and-pop culture with this immersive, hands-on cooking class celebrating four much-loved dishes found in our island’s corner stores. Together, we’ll explore the rich history, cultural significance, and irresistible flavors that make these local favorites so iconic. Class Menu Kaua‘i Style Musubi — Vegetarian option available by request Somen Salad — Pescatarian/Vegetarian Ahi Poke Bowls — Pescatarian Mochi — Vegetarian Please notify us at least 24 hours before class if you’d like to prepare the vegetarian version of our Musubi. What to Expect All ingredients, tools, and recipes will be prepped and ready so we can jump right into a few joyful hours of cooking, learning, and tasting. You’ll craft each dish by hand and sit down to enjoy a truly Kaua‘i-style dinner—made with fresh ingredients, new skills, and new friends. In true local fashion, nobody leaves hungry. Where You’ll Be Classes take place at The Cooking Kauai, Provisions Kitchen in Lāwa‘i, just ten minutes from Kōloa and Po‘ipū. Once registered, you’ll receive exact directions and arrival instructions. Our cozy 1/3-acre homestead sits on Kaua‘i’s sunny South Shore, surrounded by lychee, avocado, citrus, and banana trees—a beautiful setting for an unforgettable culinary experience. Age Requirement · Participants must be 8 years or older. Youth ages 8–17 must attend with a registered adult What You’ll Take Home We hope that every guest leaves with: · A deeper appreciation for Hawai‘i’s diverse cultures · Connections with fellow food lovers · The confidence to recreate these dishes in your own kitchen Refund Policy Because each class has limited seating and requires advance food preparation, all registrations are final and non-refundable. Think of your reservation like purchasing a concert ticket—you’re always welcome to send someone in your place if you cannot attend. Alternatively, feel free to reach out. We may be able to move you to another date. Refunds are only offered if Monkeypod Jam must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances or low participation (fewer than six guests).
