Fantastic Pairing of Chrome and Vanadium Kornerupine Round Gems - 1.4 ctw. BOTH faceted by Scott Maier in Vermont

Gem: Chrome and Vanadium Kornerupine Weight: 1.4 ctw. - purple chrome: 0.46 ct.; green vanadium: 0.94 ct. Dimensions: 6.1 and 5.1 mm Clarity: SI+ and SI+ - very lightly salt and pepper Origin: Umba Valley, Tanzania Treatments: None Comments: I faceted both of these beauties -- they both glowed so much in the rough that I couldn't help myself, even though the chrome one in particular is a decent amount smaller than I typically cut. Each one is a custom design, though the designs don't match each other. I enjoy how each one performs, and I personally think the very very slight amount of salt and pepper in each makes them a great match for each other in many, but not all ways. They play off of each other quite well.
