A field-replaceable mica-reinforced cone, Nomex spider, 14.5mm linear Xmax, and a 31.77 Hz Fs that loads beautifully into a properly sized sealed cabinet. Drop it in a generic box and you'll get good bass. Drop it in a cabinet engineered around its Thiele-Small parameters and you'll hear what the IDQ was designed to do. The Performance Optimized Sealed 10 is that cabinet. Internal volume, baffle thickness, bracing layout, and mounting hardware are all chosen to extract the IDQ10 V4's full mechanical and acoustic potential — not approximated, not averaged across a class of 10s, not adapted from a universal box. This enclosure is engineered specifically around the published Thiele-Small parameters of the Image Dynamics IDQ10 V4. Engineered Around the IDQ10 V4's Parameters Image Dynamics calls for the IDQ10 V4 to live somewhere between 0.6 and 1.1 cubic feet sealed. We landed on 1.0 cu ft net after airspace because that's where the IDQ's Qtc, F3, and transient response settle into the sweet spot most SQ-oriented installers chase. Tight, fast, articulate — without sounding choked or clinical. Volume Selection 1.0 cu ft net is the upper end of the IDQ's compact-sealed range. Smaller volumes drive Qtc higher (overdamped, dry), larger volumes pull it lower (underdamped, loose). At 1.0 cu ft, the IDQ produces a Qtc near 0.707 — textbook critical damping, where transient response and low-end extension balance cleanly. Mounting Geometry The 9.57" cutout matches the IDQ's flange geometry exactly. The 5.81" mounting depth specification leaves comfortable internal clearance behind the magnet structure inside the 8.5" deep cabinet. No interference, no airspace robbed by a deep motor. Performance Series Construction, Driver-Specific Tuning Langboard Elite MDF Premium 3/4" MDF panels milled to documented spec — denser and more dimensionally stable than commodity MDF. Less panel resonance, tighter joints, and a longer service life. V-Groove and Dado Joinery CNC-cut V-grooves at every panel intersection let the cabinet fold into shape with maximum glue surface. Dado joints lock the baffle and rear panel into the side walls — no fasteners visible from outside. 8/32 Threaded Inserts Threaded inserts pressed into the baffle backside accept stainless steel mounting screws. No stripped pilot holes, no MDF damage from drywall screws, no surprises when the next driver upgrade rolls around. Pre-Wired Terminal Cup Proline X ABS/carbon fiber composite terminal cup, pre-wired with 12-gauge OFC inside the cabinet, with stainless steel hardware accepting both spade and banana terminations on the input side. Every panel is cut on ShopSabre CNC routers in our Tullahoma, TN facility. Tolerances that manual fabrication can't hold — joints close cleanly, baffle concentricity stays accurate, and internal volume is consistent unit to unit.
