Rolex Datejust 1601 Grey Sigma Dial
The Rolex Datejust was unveiled in 1945 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Rolex and quickly became one of the most influential wristwatches ever produced. As the world’s first self-winding waterproof chronometer wristwatch with an automatically changing date display, the Datejust introduced a level of practicality and refinement that would shape the future of modern watchmaking. More than 80 years later, it remains one of Rolex’s most enduring and recognizable models. This classic 36 mm marvel has a case in great condition with thick and even lugs with a lovely fluted white gold bezel fitted. This example also has a sigma dial, which has solid gold hour markers…a real golden treat! The grey soleil-finish dial in this example is superb with crisp white text and sigma markings at the bottom edge, signifying that the applied hour markers and coronet are in 18kt white gold. This DJ comes on a folded link Jubilee bracelet, reference 6251H, with 55 end links and a clasp marked ‘L4’. The slow set movement has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
