Here is the beautiful Ice Cream Sundae Socks by Sarah Dawn! These socks are knit from the cuff-down, with either double-pointed needles or the Magic Loop method. They use a heel flap and gusset heel, with a slip-stitch heel flap for additional durability. The instructions are written; the lace pattern is both charted and written. Instructions are given for two sizes. This pattern is designed to help break up repeats of highly variegated yarn, but solid, tonal, and gradient yarns will also be beautiful in these socks. These socks were the result of playing with yarn and stitch dictionaries. I wanted a stitch pattern that would show off variegated yarn and keep it from being 'ugly'. The Ice Cream Sundae Socks were the result! - Sarah Dawn We offer this model as a kit only. If you want to buy the pattern alone, you'll find it on Sarah Dawn's Ravelry HERE. THIS KNITTING KIT INCLUDES The Ice Cream Sundae Socks knitting pattern (sent as a digital pdf format) - The pattern is included when you purchase a kit. PATRICKNITS SIGNATURE - MERICA [100% untreated merino Rambouillet, 411 m per 100 g] - 1 SKEIN - shown in Yolo IN ADDITION TO THIS KIT, YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING MATERIALS Circular needles (for working in the round on a small circumference) of 2 mm (US 0) - or size required to obtain the gauge. Your choice of: 4 or 5 DPNs; 1x 80 cm (32 in) circular for magic loop; or 2x 16-or 24-inch (40 or 60 cm) circulars for working with two circular needles. Adjust needle size as needed to match gauge. Stitch markers Tapestry needle SIZES - ADULT SMALL (LARGE) Circumference: 16.5 (20.5) cm/ 6.5 (8) in''. Foot and leg length: adjustable. The socks are designed to be quite snug, with approximately 0.5 in (1.25 cm) of negative ease, since the stitch pattern is stretchy. If you prefer a looser sock, you can go up a needle size from the recommended needles. GAUGE 34 stitches and 40 rows = 10 cm (4'') in stocking stitch. 36 sts and 40 rows = 10 cm (4'') in lace pattern, unstretched. NOTE These socks are knit from the cuff down. The ribbing on the cuff flows into a stretchy ribbed lace pattern, which is both charted and written (page 5). The socks are the same for the left and right foot. Adjusting Sizes: These socks are specifically adjustable by knitting more or fewer pattern repeats in the leg or the foot. Each vertical lace pattern repeat is approximately 2.5 cm (1''), it is suggested, but not required, that you end after completing row 10 of the lace pattern. If you wish a sock with a wider circumference, add stitches in multiples of 12. When knitting the top of the foot, if your stitch count is not a multiple of 12, use the charts and instructions for the Small Size. If your stitch count is a multiple of 12, use the charts and instructions for the Large Size. (Charts and instructions for both sizes are on page 5). If you want a slightly longer toe, work decreases every other row until 30 sts remain, then work as written. This will add approximately 0.5 cm (0.25'') to the sock's length. ENJOY! ♥ This pattern is sold in a digital pdf format: a link to download your pattern will be provided once the order is completed and you will also get this link by email (make sure to check your spams if you can't find the email in your inbox)
