Kobold's Birthday Surprise

This is a level 2 adventure designed for a party of 4. It should take approximately 2-4 hours to play. Kobold’s Birthday Surprise is a comedic, lighthearted mystery that has the party helping a cute kobold butler who’s gotten himself into a bit of a jam… *GMs eyes only below* Adventure Background: Duke Millaenio Deccard the Third is a bad boss, and not a great person. Greedy, image obsessed and quick to anger, the Duke is despised by most people that know him. However, he’s also the financial backbone of the town, at one time nearly a quarter of the town was directly employed by him. Butler the Kobold is one such employee, the most loyal and good natured of anyone in town. He loves the Duke and obeys his every whim, but Butler is also beloved around town, always a smiling and excited face while out running chores for the Duke. Another employee was Caitlin Hanniflan, an incredibly talented young cook and caterer in charge of the Duke’s event hosting. The Duke and Caitlin were similar in too many ways, with Caitlin desiring to be the center of attention nearly as much as the Duke, conceiving ever more complex dishes for events, and presenting them in ever more convoluted ways. This inevitably ended with Caitlin spilling a fiery dish onto the Duke in the middle of a ball when he was courting a wife, and was soundly fired. Caitlin did not agree with this decision. She took a job cooking in a seedy local tavern and quickly fell in with a gang of bandits who encouraged the worst in her.
