Large Dancing Bull Charm with Applied Patina

An especially expressive, large, mid 20th century charm, modeled in 18k yellow gold to recall a bull, in graceful movement. The posture of the bull is beautifully represented, here— he lowers his shoulders, bowing his head and tipping it slightly to one side. His powerful chest nearly drags the ground, while his back legs rest in a wide stance, with one knee bent. This substantial modernist charm is decorated with a linear Florentine finish. Our bull's head and chest feature an applied black patina, communicating darker fur in those areas. His delicate horns, ears, and nose are small, bright spots of gold against this dark patina. This charm hangs from a pear-shaped bail, which is marked for purity, and with glyphs indicating manufacture in Italy.
