Soap Box Derby isn’t just a sport to me... It’s a part of who I am. I grew up in this community. I learned how to compete, how to lose with grace, how to win with humility, and how to work hard for something I believed in. Some of my best memories, my closest friendships, and the values I carry with me today all came from Soap Box Derby. I’m proud to say I am a three-time National Derby Rallies Champion. But even more special than that is what this sport has meant to my family. Between my two sisters, my nephew, and me, we’ve earned 11 NDR championships together. Derby isn’t just something we did; it’s something that shaped our entire family. Today, I serve as the Vice President of National Derby Rallies, and I carry that responsibility with so much pride. This organization has given me so much, and now it’s my turn to give back. My goal is simple: to keep this sport alive, growing, and thriving for the next generation of kids and families. Because Derby is more than racing down a hill. It’s mentorship. It’s STEM in action. It’s family. It’s a community. It’s tradition. And it deserves to continue.
