ASA 101 Keel Boat (Private)

ASA 101 Keel Boat 1 course and examinations. This is a two day course. 3 to 4 hours in a classroom; 12 hours, on-the-water, hands-on instruction. This is a private session where you can either do the course solo or invite up two of your friends to join. Become able to skipper a sloop-rigged keelboat of approximately 20 to 27 feet in length by day in light to moderate winds and sea conditions. Auxiliary power operation is not required. Gain knowledge of basic sailing terminology, parts and functions, helm commands, basic sail trim, points of sail, buoyage, seamanship and safety including basic navigation rules to avoid collisions and hazards. Who is ASA 101 for? These two day sailing lessons are designed for students who have either never sailed, or have been on the water and are ready to learn more. It is the perfect first step towards becoming a competent sailor.
