Medium to deep garnet-purple in colour, it opens with warm red and black currants, kirsch, raspberry tart and lifted floral notes, now joined by emerging tertiary aromas of tobacco, wild sage, cedar, graphite and subtle pencil shavings. The palate is medium-bodied, refined and expressive, with red and black fruit still vibrant, while the tannins are beginning to soften into a velvety, polished texture. Fresh acidity keeps the wine poised and energetic, carrying the finish long and graceful. This is a beautifully evolving Grand Cru Classé, offering both immediate pleasure and further cellaring potential. Enjoy now with decanting, or cellar for another 8–12 years.
