Washington Room 144A - Sewing Room (Sunday, August 2nd) Class Length: 2 hours ________________________________ In this cozy, beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn how to hand sew an adorable whale shark plushie from scratch — no sewing machine required! Whether you’ve never threaded a needle before or you're just looking for a relaxing project, this class will walk you through each step in a fun, no-pressure environment. By the end of class, you’ll have a finished, one-of-a-kind plushie that’s perfect for gifting, collecting, or cuddling. Plus, you’ll go home with the skills and confidence to make more on your own! ________________________________ In this workshop you'll learn: Tips for working with felt and soft fabrics Hand sewing basics: threading needles, running stitch, whip stitch, and ladder stitch How to stuff and shape your plushie for a cute, chibi-style finish How to attach simple accessories or facial features for extra personality Prerequisite Skills: None - Beginner Friendly ________________________________ About the Instructor: Aissac is a professional costumer from NYC that specializes in pattern making, beading, hand finishing, and garment construction. They’ve worked on shows for both film and Broadway, such as Wicked, The Lion King, Gilded Age, and the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic. Their passion for sewing comes from over 15 years of cosplay experience.
