RARE antique Flylock Double Gold Hammered Antique automatic knife made by the Flylock Knife Co, a division of Challenge Cutlery Corp of Bridgeport, CT in the 1920s. This is the larger size of the two bladed switchblades that the company made measuring 3 3/8" closed and 7 1/16 inches open with steel liners and nickel silver buttons. The knife has two blades, each is activated by sliding an oval button, one on each side of the knife. The blades are both 98% full or better with patina, light scratches and some peppering. The main blade is stamped Flylock over REG US PAT OFF and the back tang is stamped FLYLOCK KNIFE CO B'PORT CONN. The small blade has the same front markings as the big blade, but the back is stamped US PAT 3-5-18. The scales (handles) are "Hammered Gold" colored metal and are in excellent condition. The knife functions well with no peek when closed. Both blades open as they should with a little play at the tips when locked open. Slight kickback on small blade when opening. Some rattle if shaken with both blades open. Nice RARE 100 year old American double switchblade. VG+ condition.
