Dallas Dhu 10 Year Old Gordon & MacPhail 1980s
Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 75cl / 40% A 10-year-old Dallas Dhu single malt Scotch whisky, bottled during the 1980s by Gordon & MacPhail of Elgin. This vintage bottling was released at 40% ABV in a 75cl bottle, featuring the traditional distillery illustration on the label. Dallas Dhu Distillery was established in 1898 near Forres in Speyside and originally operated under the name Dallasmore. The distillery used traditional production methods, including worm tub condensers, before closing in 1983 during a period of widespread closures across the Scotch whisky industry. Unlike many other closed distilleries, Dallas Dhu was preserved and subsequently reopened as a museum, offering visitors an insight into traditional whisky production. Gordon & MacPhail has a long association with Dallas Dhu, having bottled numerous releases from the distillery over the decades. This 1980s bottling is an interesting example of the distillery's single malt from around the time production ceased, making it particularly appealing to collectors and enthusiasts of closed Speyside distilleries.
