Niribili Muga Silk Saree

This pure Muga silk saree is all about detail — the kind that reveals itself slowly. Its natural golden lustre is layered with delicate floral butas along the borders, while the pallu carries intricate Mishmi tribal motifs in a richly woven geometric composition. The tone-on-tone weaving gives the silk a beautiful depth, allowing the motifs to emerge and recede as the light moves across the drape. A fine red selvedge adds just the right touch of contrast. Richly woven, intricate and unmistakably Muga, this is a saree that rewards a closer look. This is a handwoven piece, unevenness in the selvedge and weave could be expected.
