Cercis canadensis 'Hearts A'Fire' - Height 160-180cm - Bushy - 12lt

Cercis canadensis ‘Hearts A’Fire’ is a striking deciduous tree prized for its colourful foliage, beautiful spring flowers and attractive, spreading form. A cultivar of the Eastern Redbud, it offers several seasons of interest and makes an excellent focal point for a garden. In spring, clusters of small, rosy-pink flowers appear along the bare branches and stems, often before the foliage emerges. This creates a particularly attractive display and provides an early source of nectar for pollinating insects. As the leaves develop, they emerge in rich burgundy and red tones, creating a dramatic contrast before gradually maturing to shades of green. The heart-shaped leaves give the tree a soft and distinctive appearance throughout summer. In autumn, the foliage can develop attractive yellow tones before falling, revealing the tree's branching structure through the winter months. Its naturally elegant shape means it can be enjoyed as a specimen without requiring extensive pruning. Cercis canadensis ‘Hearts A’Fire’ is best planted in a sunny or partially shaded position with fertile, well-drained soil. A sheltered location is preferable, particularly when the tree is young, as this can help protect its colourful new growth and spring flowers from strong winds and late frosts. Once established, it is generally straightforward to maintain. Its relatively manageable size makes it suitable for a variety of garden settings, including lawns, borders, courtyards and larger planting schemes. The combination of vivid spring foliage, pink flowers and attractive autumn colour makes it particularly useful where a tree is required to provide changing interest throughout the year. For customers looking for a tree with strong seasonal impact, Cercis canadensis ‘Hearts A’Fire’ is an excellent choice. Its unusual foliage colours and delicate spring flowers create a distinctive garden feature, while its attractive structure ensures it remains interesting even when the tree is dormant in winter.
