Hestia

by Meghan Haughton The moment we saw Hestia on the cover of Laine magazine Issue 30, we knew we had to make our own version in our soft and cozy Baby Yak Medium and so glad we did. Hestia is a dropped-shoulder colourwork sweater with an oversized, cosy fit. The colourwork motif is only present on the upper torso as an eye-catching pop and a modern twist on a timeless form. The sweater is a tribute to the Greek goddess Hestia and her symbolism for warmth, the hearth and family, evoking a feeling of nostalgic coziness for the coming cold seasons. There are two options for the neck: a turtleneck (shown in sample) or a shorter folded neckband; and two options for the sleeves: straight (shown in sample) or tapered. The sample shown in these photos is size 2 with the high neck. Our friend Elisabetta knit the sample for us and you can find her project page on ravelry. The pattern can be found in Issue 30 of Laine Magazine. Note on yardage: what you will see here are bundles based on pattern yardage, but you should consider length, ease and sleeves choices before deciding on which bundles will work for you. For your reference, we knit size 2 with 10 skeins of Baby Yak Medium in Chocolate for the CC and 2 skeins of Pink Pearl for the CC.
