VANADINITE

Everyone knows that Morocco has produced the world's finest crystallized Vanadinite specimens, and by some way too. It is also true that specimens continue to pour out of the country, but there have been specific finds during the past 40 years that are elevated beyond what is seen in 'Crystal' shops. One particular association which stands out is that where not only are the Vanadinite crystals perfectly defined in their shape, gloriously bright with their intense cherry-red colour and sumptuous 'wet' resinous lustre, but they are perched upon a contrasting creamy-white matrix of Baryte as clustered bladed cockcomb crystal aggregates. This small cabinet-sized specimen displays this combination perfectly, and with its Vanadinite crystals reaching nearly 1 cm across it is quite beautiful to look at.
