Cephalotus follicularis 'Typical' (Albany Pitcher Plant)

Cephalotus follicularis ‘Typical’ is the classic form of the Albany Pitcher Plant, a compact carnivorous species endemic to south-west Western Australia. Mature plants form low rosettes of richly coloured, toothed pitchers that develop their strongest red and burgundy tones under bright light. Plant size: You will receive a juvenile plant approximately 2 cm across. Growing guide: Keep in bright filtered light or gentle morning sun. Use a free-draining carnivorous plant mix and stand the pot in a shallow tray of rainwater, distilled water or reverse-osmosis water during active growth. Avoid fertilised potting mix and mineral-rich tap water. Protect from prolonged extreme heat and allow good airflow. Plants may vary naturally in size and colour. Juvenile plants will develop their characteristic pitchers as they mature.
