Part of Yamahei Kiln’s AWA (泡) collection, this elegant Arita porcelain plate captures the shimmering appearance of bubbles and light beneath the surface of water. Created using Yamahei Kiln’s distinctive technique, the surface evokes the view of sunlight sparkling through water when looking upward from beneath the sea. Each piece is carefully finished by hand, creating subtle variations in the pattern and expression of the bubbles—no two plates are exactly alike. At 16.5 cm, the plate is a versatile size for cakes, desserts, small dishes and appetisers, and can also be paired with a coffee cup as a saucer.
