Memory: Moderate memory allows for light modifications and edge finishing. Resistance to stretch (RTS): High – can be handled firmly. Drape: Low drape enables material to be handled firmly and is ideal for larger splints. Rigidity: High. Carolina holds shape against the pull of the patient or dynamic components. Bonding & Finish: This non-coated material is slightly sticky and stays in place during application. It will easily form a permanent bond during orthosis fabrication. The firm material resists fingerprints to give a smooth, matt finish. The edges ‘self seal’ easily if the material is cut when still warm.
