2024 'Cancelli' Rosso Montepulciano

Mountain freshness meets Adriatic salinity Cancelli is a savoury Montepulciano from a four-hectare vineyard in Loreto Aprutino, planted 450 metres above sea level. The vines are more than 40 years old and sit between the Gran Sasso mountains and the Adriatic Sea, a striking position that brings freshness and distinctive coastal character. The fruit fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in cement tanks, without temperature control, before ageing in stainless steel. Bright acidity shapes the palate, with earthy dark fruit and a delicious salty quality carrying through the finish. Rustic in the best sense, vibrant and wonderfully food-friendly. Serve lightly chilled at 14 to 16°C with lamb ragù, pasta e fagioli or rich pork dishes.
