Artist's note: Moonlight on umbrellas through my window Recently I painted a series of rain-inspired pens, all of them fairly pictorial. But actually, I think one of the best things about rain is how it makes the world feel less hard-edged and literal, less pictorial, and instead make it fuzzy and glowy and surreal. This time, I tried to capture that feeling of sitting by a window with rain streaking down the glass, people hurrying in the street outside are washed out, you can’t quite feel the chaos of out there because inside, time has slowed down.
