Summer Watch Party

Each summer, in the lead-up to the AA Annual Conference, the AA will host four fun webinars screening a plethora of conference talks recorded over the past five decades, showcasing a wide range of astrological topics presented by an array of international speakers, including Charles Harvey, Liz Greene, Howard Sasportas, Chris Brennan, Maurice Fernandez, Darby Costello, Lynn Bell, Lee Lehman, Sue Tompkins, Jane Ridder-Patrick, Graeme Tobyn, Marcos Patchett, Deborah Houlding, and more. Each webinar will feature clips from different talks exploring a shared theme or topic which will be followed by a discussion. Some clips will be presented as video recordings, while others (pre-video days) will be audio recordings accompanied by slides or visuals. Wednesday 20 May – Cycles Through History We kick off our new series by discussing Charles Harvey’s first recorded conference lecture, “Astrological Cycles” (York, 1983). Charles’s talk explores the Saturn–Neptune cycle, which we felt especially relevant given this year’s recent conjunction. This will be followed by clips from Chris Brennan’s conference talk on the “Uranus–Neptune Cycles” (2019), as well as Maurice Fernandez’s talk on the “Saturn–Neptune Cycle” (2022). Wednesday 17 June 2026 – Mars in the Horoscope from a Psychological Perspective With Saturn and Neptune both in Aries this year, we thought exploring Mars would make for a fascinating topic. This webinar will begin with “Mars in the Birth Chart”, presented by Howard Sasportas (1985), followed by clips from Darby Costello’s talk “Mars: Our Warrior, Our Destroyer” (2018), and Lynn Bell’s “What Is Your Mars Doing in Our Relationship?” (2023). Wednesday 15 July 2026 – Medical Astrology The 2026 conference includes several talks on medical astrology, so we wanted to revive interest in this important area by exploring a variety of perspectives spanning the years 1989 to 2025. This session will feature clips previously presented by Lee Lehman, Wanda Sellar, Sue Tompkins, Jane Ridder-Patrick, Graeme Tobyn, and Marcos Patchett. Wednesday 19 August – Interpretation of the Twelfth House from Different Perspectives Always an interesting and popular topic, this screening will explore the twelfth house through clips from Deborah Houlding’s “The Development of House Meanings” (1993), Maurice Fernandez’s “New Light on the 12th House”, and Lynn Bell’s “Listening to the Daimon: The 12th House” (2020).
