MEDIEVAL SCANDINAVIAN PENDANT 12TH-13TH CENTURY AD

12th-13th Century AD, the Crusades period. 1 1/16” (1.06”) height of stylized heart form descended from the Vikings. Bold high relief decoration of addorsed trefoils below scrolling foliage. The trefoil and heart were basic Viking forms used extensively in decoration and combined here in recognition of Viking heritage. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored on an 18” modern gilt sterling silver neck chain. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity. After conversion to Christianity in the 11th century, Vikings fought valiantly in the Crusades.
