"Irène" is an elegant vintage marquise ring, crafted in 18-karat yellow and white gold in the 1970s. Made entirely of yellow gold, its design features flowing, interwoven lines inspired by flowers. A delicate pavé of 21 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling 0.42 carat sits at the heart of this composition, bringing numerous flashes of light between the gold arabesques. Small decorative palmettes punctuate the design and enhance its fine-jewelry character. The term marquise comes from the Marquise de Pompadour: Louis XV is said to have commissioned a gemstone cut to recall the shape of her mouth.
