Chasing Omniscan 450 FS
Chasing Omniscan 450 FS Sonar | Forward-Looking Sonar The Chasing Omniscan 450 FS is a professional-grade forward-looking sonar designed specifically for the Chasing M2 Pro Max ROV. Unlike mechanical scanning sonars that slowly sweep a sector, the Omniscan 450 FS puts scanning control directly in the hands of the ROV pilot — building a real-time acoustic image as the ROV moves and allowing operators to instantly focus on specific areas of interest. Compatible with Cerulean SonarView software, it delivers excellent situational awareness in the murkiest underwater conditions. Chasing Omniscan 450 FS Key Features Pilot-Controlled Forward Scanning The Cerulean SonarView paints a real-time image of the scanned area — giving the operator complete control over where and how they scan, rather than waiting for a mechanical sonar to sweep around. This makes it significantly faster for locating targets, wreck hunting, and navigating complex underwater environments. Three Scanning Modes 2D Mode: Flat two-dimensional view of the seafloor and surrounding structures for quick situational assessments 3D Mode: Three-dimensional visualization of scanned data for detailed spatial analysis and inspection Waterfall Mode: Dynamic moving image showing real-time changes over time — ideal for tracking movement of fish, debris, or currents Doppler Position Tracking For ROVs without GPS or DVL positioning information, the Omniscan 450 FS uses Doppler Position Tracking to provide translational information in the direction of the beam. Using two Omniscan 450 FS units — one forward and one rotated 90° to the side — full 2D motion tracking is available, enabling position hold mode for precision underwater operations. Single Enclosure Design The transducer and all electronics are housed in a single compact enclosure with a single Ethernet and power interface — simplifying installation, reducing complexity, and improving overall system reliability. The sonar mounts securely to the M2 Pro Max via a sliding platform attachment to the support rod. Dual Sonar Configuration Two Omniscan 450 FS units can be deployed simultaneously — one forward and one to the side — providing full forward coverage simply by rotating the M2 Pro Max 90°, significantly increasing operational efficiency and area coverage during complex missions. Built-In Recording & Data Export The Omniscan 450 FS includes a built-in recording function supporting full scan playback and data file export, providing a solid foundation for post-mission analysis, reporting, and decision-making.
