Maison Roche de Bellene Blanc Montagny Villages 2018
Nicolas Potel is something of a Burgundy legend, and his Maison Roche de Bellene is one of the region's most trusted négociant houses – sourcing from organically and sustainably farmed old-vine parcels and bottling them with a reverence for terroir that shows in every glass. This Montagny is hand-harvested Chardonnay from 30-year-old vines on clay and limestone slopes, fermented with native yeasts, and aged in French oak. The result is rich and round on the palate, with a lush, juicy mid-palate, a nutty, buttery finish, and just enough buzzing acidity to keep things fresh. A white Burgundy for those who love the softer, more voluptuous side of Chardonnay.
