The Kiss was Beautiful
Tracey Emin's The Kiss was Beautiful (2016) distills the artist's confessional voice into a single tender image — a heart drawn in Emin's unmistakable scrawl, the words set down as if torn from a love letter. An offset lithographic poster in colours on glossy wove paper, it was printed and published by Emin International, London, and is signed and inscribed 'X' in silver felt-tip pen by the artist. Emin (b. 1963), a central figure of the Young British Artists, has spent four decades turning private feeling into public art through neon, embroidery, drawing and print. Her text-and-heart works translate the raw intimacy of her larger installations into an immediate, collectible format, where handwriting becomes both signature and subject. Sheet: 27 1/2 x 19 3/4 in (69.9 x 50.2 cm). Offered unframed; framing is available for an additional $295.
