1960s Donna Esa Raffia Leather Statement Handbag

Large 1960s Donna Esa handbag, made from black woven raffia with red leather and heavy gold-tone metal hardware. A spectacular oversized design with a large red leather tassel and a curved metal frame. The bag has a red leather handle and is fully lined in matching red leather, with an additional pocket inside. The combination of black, red and gold gives it a dramatic look and makes this a real statement piece. The bag opens by gently pressing the front part of the metal frame downward. Donna Esa, also found as Donna Elisa / Donna Elissa, was an Italian handbag maker known for distinctive designs and the use of quality materials.
