Beginner Wheel Spinning with Casey If you’re interested in learning to spin on a wheel, this is your chance. Join us for a hands-on 4½-hour Wheel Spinning class! With only four students, this intimate class provides plenty of individual instruction and personalized guidance as you learn at your own pace. Perfect for beginners, this class will introduce you to the basics of spinning yarn using a wheel. You’ll be learning to spin wool on single-drive Scotch tension wheels. We'll review all the fundamental techniques of spinning fiber into yarn, from drafting the fiber to twisting it together. We’ll cover everything you need to get started, including: The anatomy of a spinning wheel and how to use it effectively Basic spinning techniques and drafting methods Tips for plying and finishing your spun yarn By the end of the class, you’ll have your own mini hank of handspun yarn to take home, along with the knowledge to continue spinning on your own. All materials are provided. Whether you're interested in spinning as a craft or want to create unique, handmade yarns for future knitting or weaving projects, this class is the perfect starting point! Folks should have at least minimal experience with drop spindle (please reach out if you have any questions!)
