This matters more on a beveled band than most: the flat plateau across the top is exactly the kind of uninterrupted surface where scratches show worst on a polished ring. Satin removes the problem. Marks settle into the grain instead of standing against a mirror, and the band ages into itself rather than looking damaged. When you eventually want it crisp again, a few minutes at the bench restores it. The Beveled Profile The center of the band stays flat and level, and the two edges are cut back at an angle to form narrow facets running the full circumference. That gives you three surfaces where a flat band has one. On a satin finish the effect is subtler than on polish — the facets read as a shift in tone rather than a flash of light — which is precisely why this version suits men who want structure without any shine at all. Choosing Between Satin and Polished We make this same bevel with a mirror-polished face. The choice is a real one. Polished gives you maximum brightness and the more traditional, dressier read, but a mirror surface shows fine scratches as it wears. Satin trades that brightness for a matte surface that absorbs them. If you want the ring to catch the eye, choose polished. If you work with your hands and want to forget the ring is there, choose this one. The Fit At 4mm this is the slimmest of the traditional men's widths, substantial enough to read clearly as a wedding band and light enough to stop noticing within a week.
