This is a beautifully kept second-hand B&S Challenger II 3141/2 N cornet, from the higher-end cornet line in B&S’s Challenger series, discontinued in the early 2010s and increasingly sought after by collectors and players alike. It features a hand-hammered one-piece gold brass bell, monel pistons, nickel silver outer slides, and 1st and 3rd valve slide triggers. Finished in silver plate with lacquered brass caps, buttons, levers, and water keys, this cornet presents in immaculate condition throughout. It has been serviced and is ready to play. The instrument comes with its original case, itself in pristine condition, along with a custom-made leather case cover. A second interchangeable receiver is included, allowing standard trumpet mouthpieces to be used on the instrument, along with a B&S 3B heavyweight cornet mouthpiece.
