A fine late 18th century engraving of weeping angels. The work depicts a central weeping angel seated upon clouds holding a quill above a large open ledger; likely 'The Recording Angel' said to write human deeds in the Book of Life. The angel above has hands clasped in prayer, and to the side, the two further angels are looking on in sorrow with small floating cherub heads emerging from the clouds to the opposite side. The work has some age tone but presents very well overall. Housed in a later 19th century glazed giltwood frame.
