Daisy
Poster featuring Daisy by William Morris from 1864. The small repetitive pattern of light flowers and green leaves was Morris's second wallpaper design, but the first that his company actually put into production. The inspiration came from several historical and natural sources: medieval millefleurs tapestries, early botanical prints, and floral details in illuminated manuscripts. William Morris (1834–1896) would later become one of the leading figures of the Arts and Crafts movement, but Daisy shows how early his distinctive visual language took shape. The small flowers create an even, almost textile-like field that brings the wall to life without dominating the room. This very balance of history, nature, and graphic repetition is an important reason why Morris's patterns still work so well in today's interiors.Artist: William Morris (1834–1896) | Created: 1864.Frame not included. Please note that the images are cropped slightly differently depending on which size you choose.
