Ring Paparadscha Sapphire 2

This Papardscha Sapphire ring is stunning. The Paparadscha lab gem which has Sri Lankan origin looks beautiful surrounded by a fine silver bezel. The shank has a simple triangle like texture on it that matches the shape of the stone. The shank was made with moist silver clay rolled to the necessary thickness. The clay was wrapped onto a ring mandrel and dried. I added a small decorative texture of triangles at the other end of the ring shank. I burnished the 3 corners of the bezel with 24K Gold foil, an ancient Korean technique called Keum boo. This makes the deep color of the stone really pop. Of course this was done after the dried clay ring was fired in the 1650 degree F kiln for 2 hours, refined and polished. Ring size 10.
