Vintage Art Deco Czech Blue Open Back Glass Rhinestone Brooch

Striking vintage Czech-style brooch featuring large, brilliant sapphire-blue faceted glass stones arranged among delicately molded leaves and branches. The stones are individually prong-set in an antiqued silver-tone metal setting. Open-backed construction allows light to pass through the glass, producing an especially vivid electric-blue color. The dimensional botanical design and substantial glass stones are characteristic of Czech costume jewelry produced during the Art Deco to early mid-century period, circa 1930s–1940s. The brooch measures approximately 2.5 inches wide by 1.25 inches tall. This piece is unsigned and is attributed to Czech manufacture based upon its materials, construction, open-backed glass stones, and design. Vintage condition with visible age-related wear. All stones are present. The stones display varying degrees of surface wear, scratching, cloudiness, and aging. The silver-tone metal has patina and finish wear consistent with age.
