Hannah at SLAB Jewellery My work is inspired by historic chapels, places rich in craftwork and symbolism, deeply connected to what it means to be human. For this piece I visited the medieval Lord Mayor’s Chapel, hidden just off College Green, rich with ancient artefacts and dedications. Alongside these official memorials are the unofficial markings from individuals carving their initials and dates into the fabric of the building. Long gone people recording their humanity in stone and marble. My jewellery is informed by the same preoccupations; life and death, two halves of the same piece, connected by memory. Capturing that humanity and crafting using the lost-wax method for a one-of-a-kind ring stack featuring a unique, imperfect, cognac diamond encased in 9ct yellow gold.
